Hey there, I am Melvin Pritchett, founder of The Coffee Xpert.
If you are here then coffee is not just some popular beverage; it is a lifestyle.
If you are like me then visiting a coffee shop has become a big part of your daily routine, your life. Hanging out in a coffee shop is a cool thing to do. It is a great place to meet with friends, have business meetings or to relax by yourself to get some reading done, or to just sit enjoy the atmosphere.
There are some of you who like having coffee at home. Your favorite store and the internet allows you to bring the gourmet coffee experience home.
Buying coffee online gives you the ability to grind beans at home and experience coffees from different countries and regions. You basically can brew coffee that compares to what you purchase from a coffee shop.
It can be overwhelming when there are so many different types of coffee, coffee makers, monthly subscription services and cold brews to choose.
Here, at The Coffee Xpert, my team and I filter through all the complicated advice and information out there and give you the fun advice that works.
Our guide is the best place to start for anyone looking to learn some interesting myths and facts about coffee when it comes to weight loss, caffeine content, and benefits.
Common Coffee Myths
First, I want to dismiss a few popular myths about drinking coffee that I keep seeing online. These just go to prove how much wrong information we are getting:
Myth 1: Coffee Sobers You Right Up
Not so much. Time is the best and only medicine for getting sober. It takes many hours for alcohol to leave your system. Drinking coffee will not make your system break down alcohol at a faster rate.
The caffeine in coffee acts as a stimulant that can make a drunk person alert. This feeling of stimulation can be very dangerous because the intoxicated person is being tricked into thinking they are close to sobriety; leading them to believe that it is okay to drive.
Myth 2: All Coffee Has The Same Level Of Caffeine
Nope. Try again! If all coffee had the same caffeine content then there would be no light and dark roast; there would only be one. All coffees are brewed differently from others; some have very little caffeine, and others have a lot. For example, McDonald’s offers 9.1 milligrams per fluid ounces as compared to the 13-milligram cup of Dunkin’ Donuts.
Myth 3: Coffee Aids In Weight Loss
Uhhh… Not Really. Your metabolism is increased slightly from the stimulating effects of caffeine. If you are looking for long-term weight loss results, don’t look to coffee. The caffeine may be able to reduce your appetite for a short period, but there’s not enough data to prove that long-term consumption of coffee helps with losing weight.
